SP Finland and Jukola 2009

SP1 MIDDLE
Everyone knows how to run in the terrain in south of Finland. I hear this sentence after running Silja Rastit in the spring. Nordic runners are really good in this kind of the terrain and it is difficult to beat them. I manage to run good orienteering just with small mistakes and finish on 17th place.

Weather was pretty windy, because I cannot find other explanations of GPS route difference to the northeast control in the butterfly. I have to discuss that with GPS expert...
SP2 SPRINT
I did not expect anything from this competition, but was kindly surprised after finishing on 8th place (Fortunately Jan Mrazek did not find time to take part in this competition, so I am number 7 in the results. You can read more here). Still I can find many small mistakes in the end of the competition…

M(K)IKKELI JUKOLA 2009
We finish under the top again, but it was close this time! We will be back and stronger next year. Thanks Tomi, Hannu, Miika, Simo, Fabu and Tero for their performances. It is pleasure to run with you in the one team. We are waiting 10M and Jukola 2010 and our goal is not difficult, just catch one place :)

NOC2009 Relays

My first race after the sickness was today’s relays on theNOC2009. It is every time hot to run with Olaf and Bingo. Why it is hot, you can find here later:)

I was running 2nd leg this time and my race was quite ok. We were number 6 and this is a big success for our team in the Nordic terrain!

It looks that WOC selections will not be my top. Sprint race for sure... Hopefully I will be ready for NOC and Jukola.

I spend last week in beautiful nature of Koli national park. Program was clear, the same like every beginning of the May in Zdravotnik with two main trainings: 3x3km and 3x12min uphill…

Jumalauta: Finn Spring 2009

We were traveling basic 7 hours to the Finn Spring competitions near Vaasa, but this time it was not wasting of the time. Terrain on the west coast was challenging and difficult. It is funny to run classic distance in this kind of the terrain!


Classic:
I was running quite well, but I was not able to use my running capacity in that kind of the terrain, because underground did not look like track and field tartan surface, where I am usually training. And it is also difficult to run butterflies, because we are coming from winter Joensuu and you cannot see here any butterflies…

But main part of our trip came in the afternoon, when we were fishing. Unfortunately fishes in this part of the Finland do not like candies…




Relays:
After my classic distance performance, I got an opportunity to run last leg again, but I fail. I was caught by Pasi after 18 min of running by 1min and I try to follow him, but this was mission impossible in that kind of the ground surface for me. I was not able to read the map and did 2min mistake when Pasi disappear from my view…
